Can anyone with breast cancer take part in this study ?
No – individuals whose sex is female, or who self- define as transgender may have different medical, psychological, information and after- care support needs and so they are not the focus of this research study.
In order to reduce the possibility of discomfort or stress, participants who have been diagnosed at stage 4 male breast cancer are not the focus of the study or stage 1 interviews. However, for the stage 1 interviews, we are willing to consider participants at stage 4 male breast cancer if they feel strongly about taking part and where the researchers feel they are able to ensure a participant’s physical and psychological well-being.
